About the Role:

Paragon Education is seeking a dedicated Grade 1 Teaching Assistant to join an SEN primary school in Worcester. This rewarding position is due to commence in September 2024 and offers the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to identify and address the specific needs of each student and implement appropriate strategies and interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, including observations, assessments, and feedback.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly within an SEN or special educational setting, is desirable but not essential.
• A caring and compassionate nature, with a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and meeting the individual needs of students with diverse abilities and learning styles.
• Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with SEND, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, would be advantageous.
