About the Role:
An inclusive primary school in Kidderminster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with significant learning needs. The student is currently behind his expected learning level and requires extra assistance to help bridge the gap. This is an ideal role for a compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about making a difference in a child's educational journey.

Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to support the student in his day-to-day learning. The role involves tailoring learning activities to his specific needs and providing consistent encouragement and guidance. Your support will play a crucial role in helping the child achieve academic progress and greater confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the pupil, assisting with tasks that align with his individual learning plan.
  • Help the student engage with the Year 3 curriculum at a level suitable for his abilities.
  • Monitor and track the pupil’s progress, regularly reporting to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods to suit the pupil’s learning needs.
  • Encourage social integration and positive behaviour within the classroom.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide encouragement and motivation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to meet the pupil’s needs.
